Key Value And Performance Requirements Of Camera Modules in Industrial Intelligent Monitoring

In the process of industrial intelligent transformation, camera modules, as the "nerve endings" of industrial monitoring systems, are the core support for realizing full-process visualization and intelligent management of production. Prizm Optics' innovative camera technology, through the in-depth integration of optics and AI, provides a more efficient perception solution for industrial monitoring scenarios.

In terms of functional roles, industrial monitoring camera modules mainly undertake two tasks. On one hand, they are responsible for comprehensive situational awareness of production scenarios. Industrial workshops have dense equipment and complex environments. Traditional monitoring requires multiple sets of cameras to be stitched for coverage. However, Prizm's Qube dynamic field-of-view switching module can achieve seamless expansion and switching of the field of view through a single module, accurately capturing details such as equipment operation status and personnel operation specifications, providing real-time image support for equipment failure early warning and production safety supervision. On the other hand, they perform accurate data collection in special environments. In harsh industrial environments such as high temperature and dust, thermal imaging camera modules equipped with Prizmatics™ technology can penetrate environmental interference, synchronously collect equipment temperature distribution and operation images, helping staff discover abnormal heat sources in time and prevent risks such as equipment overload or fire.

Industrial-grade camera modules need to have three performance characteristics. Firstly, strong environmental adaptability, requiring IP67 or higher protection level certification, withstanding temperature changes from -30℃ to 70℃, and lenses having oil-proof and dust-proof adhesion capabilities. Secondly, high definition and low-light sensitivity, needing to reach a resolution of more than 2 million pixels, paired with large-aperture lenses and high-sensitivity sensors to ensure clear image output even in low-light workshop environments. Thirdly, intelligent integration and durability, modules need to support connection with industrial control systems (PLC, SCADA), have anti-electromagnetic interference capabilities, and the mean time between failures (MTBF) should reach more than 50,000 hours to meet the needs of long-term stable industrial operation.
